Euro 2008 is here! After a long wait, a bizarre opening ceremony, things finally got underway in Switzerland/Austria. Last week's matches gave early clues as to who the favourites are. If you were brave enough to stay up all hours there was plenty of entertainment. For those who couldn't hack it, check in with our Euro section for the latest news.

The A-League transfer market is running hot. Adelaide United striker Nathan Burns has agreed to terms with AEK Athens, and will join them on July 1 of this year. Between his loss and the transfer of Bruce Djite, Adelaide may be searching for goals next season.

Hosts Crash Out
Group A action from Thursday morning saw co-host Switzerland knocked out by Turkey. After a solid run at the World Cup, it's certainly disappointing for the Swiss to be out so soon. The other Group A match saw Portugal defeat the Czech Republic 3-1, with Ronaldo notching a goal and an assist.

Poor Danny Vukovic. One minute, he's not going to the Olympics. Then, he is. And now, he's not. FIFA overruled the FFA's suspension of the Olyroos keeper, meaning he will most likely not play in Beijing,. Of course, the next step is another appeal.
